The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) is an organization founded and sponsored by Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The group was established to offer motorcycling benefits and services to Harley-Davidson enthusiasts throughout the world, and to develop a close relationship between the Harley-Davidson rider, the Harley-Davidson dealer and Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The opportunity to start an independent chapter affiliated with the Harley Owners Group is offered to bring members together for the common interest of promoting motorcycling activities. The goal of each chapter is to generate an increased level of enthusiasm for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The chapter shall be a family oriented and a nonpolitical organization. Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley riders for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride. By 1985, 49 local chapters had sprouted around the country, with a total membership of 60,000. Rapid growth continued into the 1990s, and in 1991 H.O.G. officially went international, with the first official European H.O.G. Rally in Cheltenham, England. Worldwide membership numbered 151,600, with 685 local chapters. As the '90s continued, H.O.G. hysteria spread into Asia, including new chapters in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. By 1999, worldwide membership had hit the half-million mark, and the number of local chapters totaled 1,157. Today, more than 1,000,000 members make H.O.G. the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world, and it shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. What does the future hold? No one can say for sure, but from here the road ahead looks long, wide open, winding, and scenic - with lots of new friends to make along the way. If you are a member or considering joining the Ghost Chapter why not come explore it with us? We promise you'll enjoy the ride. If you are a National H.O.G. member, we welcome you to join our chapter and enjoy all of the benefits that it provides! The Ghost Chapter sponsors many activities throughout the year, most importantly the many rides that are scheduled from the early Spring through late Fall. Members are welcome to attend any and all rides sponsored by the chapter. Guests may attend if accompanied by a member, and if they execute a waiver form before the ride. RIDE AND HAVE FUN! Affiliated chapters shall have the following primary officers; Director, Assistant Director, Treasurer, and Secretary. Other discretionary officers may be appointed as needed. The discretionary chapter officers shall be: Activities Officer, Road Captain ('s), Editor, Safety Officer, Photographer, Webmaster, Historian.
